Shane Bower, who wrestled as Biff Wellington for Stampede Wrestling in the late 80s, passed away within the past few days.
According to area wrestler Steve Rivers, Bower's parents found him this morning at home in bed, as they were concerned because they hadn't heard from him. Medical officials when examining the body believe he had been dead for a few days.
Bower was a top worker in the days of Owen Hart, Brian Pillman, Chris Benoit, Hiroshi Hase and so many others. He was also Benoit's tag team partner in what is believed to have been Benoit's first major U.S. mainstream match match as part of a WCW international tag team tournament.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Indy Wrestle Line, I am the Weekend Warrior, Randy Klemme with an independent wrestling update….
First off want to answer a couple of caller questions from the hotline….
To Ed--”Zombie” Rob Ramer is still active in WCWO and also NWA-Indiana. His next scheduled match is next Saturday for WCWO at the Rush County Fair in Rushville, Indiana against Manslaughter…
To Dan, I’ll be giving the info on the “boy peeing on the WWE” window decals coming up. Just drop me an e-mail and I can give you more info as well…
And to one of our regular callers on the hotline, I have never used the hotline to talk about my experiences in pro wrestling, but to give you some background….I have been involved with the business in a variety of ways since August 1998. I trained with Don Basher at the WCWO training center in Indianapolis. I have never considered myself a professional wrestler as I am not athletic by any means due to my size and age. I have been involved in just over 300 singles and tag matches in the 9 years. I was ½ of the tag team of The Country Boys with Cousin Otter and most recently with Hillbilly Jed. I have been on wrestling shows in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin. In the last 3 years I have promoted a few of my own shows under the name of Eastern Indiana Pro Wrestling, doing fundraisers for former pro wrestlers Charley Boy and Ric Ellis not to mention have had a chance to meet and talk with many of the Superstars of Pro Wrestling. I was lucky enough to be the lead announcer on channel 4 when WCWO and RWF had their runs on TV. I have been a fan all of my life and was lucky enough to meet guys like Dick the Bruiser, Wilbur Snyder and Pepper Gomez as I was growing up. I get ridiculed a lot because I was not the athletic type wrestler but still involved in so many matches. By the way, my favorite match during the 9 years was a steel cage match with Don Basher in 1999. I could go on and on because I love this business and being involved in this business, but I am sure I will be ridiculed on all of the message boards for giving details on my past.
Now back to some REAL wrestling stuff…
The Chikara Pro Young Lions Cup is underway in Pennsylvania with Indiana’s Pure Dynamite Billy roc involved. Billy’s tournament matches start today in Barnesville, Pennsylvania. We hope to get reports from the tournament throughout the weekend…

Fire Pro Wrestling Results-6/16-Merrillville, IN
Fire Pro Wrestling June 16th INFERNO 2007 results
Show opens up with Double J bringing Cyanide (current Fire Pro Heavyweight Champion) into the ring. Cyanide talked about his injury and how he will need to be sidelined for a couple months. He then unfortunately relinquished the title to Double J. Double J made the announcement that the Fire Pro Championship Committee has already convened and decided the 8 top contenders for the Heavyweight Title. In August, these 8 top contenders will organize a team of 3 other wrestlers and our August show will have 4 matches featuring 4-on-4 tag elimination bouts that night. The winners of their respective matches will advance to a battle royal at the end of the night. The winner of the battle royal will be crowned new Fire Pro Heavyweight Champion.
1. Cade Lee w/ Lynn Marie def. Louis Linaris
-after the match, Cade Lee delivered a promo about Cyanide leaving and Burke no showing the last show. Cade Lee left the ring yelling “everyone fears Cade Lee.”
2. the Kent Boys (Hayden + Christopher) w/ John Burke def. Hoss + Willie “Da Bomb”
-Special Stipulation Match: if Hoss + Willie lose they get their heads shaved, if the Kent Boys lose, they must split up. The finish of the match came when Hayden Kent came off the top rope with a cross-body on Willie (who caught Hayden) and then Christopher Kent came across with a chop-block, which lead to the Kent Boys getting the 3 count on Willie. After the match, Willie and Hoss tried getting out of the deal and began walking to the back but were blocked by the some of the locker-room coming out to make sure they live up to the deal. Willie and Hoss where then handcuffed and the Kent Boys shaved a big letter “K” into the heads of both Willie and Hoss.
3. Machine w/ Grim Reaper def. “Warfare” Jeremy Hadely
-After the match, Trauma come out and aligned himself with Machine + Grim Reaper. Trauma stated that he was supposed to have a shot at the Pride Title tonight, but since Chase had already defended the Pride Title twice last weekend, the championship committee would not allow another defense (the Pride Title is the Fire Pro Toughman Title and in the Title’s origin, it was stated that due to the nature of the matches involving the Pride Title, it may only be defended twice in one month). Trauma then told Machine that originally Machine was supposed to have Heavyweight Title shot tonight against Cyanide, but that since Cyanide is on the shelf, he had to settle for the new guy. Trauma called Chase out and demanded that Chase accept a 6-man tag later on that night. Chase came out and accepted their challenge and told them he would find 2 allies that would be willing to watch his back and step in the ring with him.
-before the next match showed, Carl Morris appeared on the big screen talking with a camera man and had a referee with him. Carl told the camera that since Chase is dodging him for the Pride Title, that Carl would take matters into his own hands. Carl craftily broke into Chase’s house and while Chase was sleeping, he tried pinning him for the Cruiserweight Title (Chase won this last weekend and the Cruiserweight Title is a 24/7 Title). Unfortunately for Carl, Chase’s cat started biting Carl’s finger and Chase, still asleep, rolled over. Carl then slapped on an Indian Burn and the ref checked Chase’s hand, which fell 3 times, declaring “the Moustache Model” Carl Morris the new Fire Pro Cruiserweight Champion.
4. Cruiserweight Title Match: “the Regulator” Tristin Hayze def. Jynx + Roach + “the Moustache Model” Carl Morris
-The fans were riding Carl as he came to the ring with the Cruiserweight Title. Double J tried stripping Carl of the title right then and there, but Carl claimed he was weighed in at a trim 223 lbs and since Double J didn’t have a scale on him, he wouldn’t be able to strip the Title. In the end, New Breed came out to laugh at Roach and Jynx stating that since they couldn’t win the Tag Team Titles, they’d try for another piece of gold. This led to Raoch and Jynx brawling with New Breed on the outside while Tristin Hayze picked up the win on Carl to become the Fire Pro Cruiserweight Champion once again.
5. Gilbert Lewis def. “the Associate” Dave Allen
-Respect Match-the loser must shake the others hand and admit they are the better man-
After the loss, Dave Allen appeared to be have learned his lesson, however, he then tried to attack Gilbert. Gilbert was ready for him and laid Dave out with “Nerd Power.”
6. Stumpy vs Chris Hazard-no contest
-In the middle of the match, Cade Lee runs out and lays both Stumpy and Chris Hazard out. Cade Lee then grabs the mic and runs down the locker room (especially Burke). This sent Burke out after Cade Lee. Cade Lee tried hitting Burke with a chain, Burke blocked and went to hit Cade Lee, but Cade quickly high-tailed it out of the ring and into the back.
7. Chase “the Face” Richards and the Kent Boys def. Trauma, Machine + Grim Reaper
-Chase introduced the Kent Boys as his partners. This match was a very physical match that went back and forth until Chase hit Grim Reaper with a flying knee to the face to pick up the win for his team. After the match, Machine and Trauma were furious they lost and Machine grabbed Grim Reaper and laid him out with a spine-buster.
8. Tag Team Title Match: New Breed (“Phoning it in” Kenny Courageous + “Jumping Jambalaya” Devon Fury) def. “the Big Jack” John Burke + “Diehard” Steve Szoke w/ Jungle Jane New Breed (“Phoning it in” Kenny Courageous + “the Creole Cook” Devon Fury)

She cannot digest food properly so she is fed through a feeding tube. She has been hospitalized numerous times due to the seizures. The last seizure she was hospitalized 3 weeks in which 11 of these days she was on a ventilator. While on the ventilator her heart went into Supraventricar Tachycadia(SVT) and a few days later she went into Ventricalar Tachycardia and had to be shocked. She was on the Ketogenic Diet which stopped her 60 seizures a day to a bad one at least monthly. The diet had to be changed, so she is having seizures daily again. She is not able to sit by herself, walk, crawl, or even say mama or dada(yet), she doesn't know how to wave bye bye, or blow a kiss. The last hospitalization the doctors told us that there was nothing more they could do and that mom and dad would sooner or later have to make a decision. It’s another busy Saturday and this is your Indy News update on the Indy Wrestle Line, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme.
Once again we want to send out our condolences to the family of Sherri Martel, who passed away yesterday. At last report, authorities have still not listed a cause of death as of yet only to say that Sherri died at her mother’s home near Birmingham, Alabama.
Well option number one has been a buzz with tons of phone messages after the revelation from themidwestinsider.com owner Adam Simmons. Please keep her family in your thoughts this weekend….
I hate to keep bringing the McMahon thing up but I did want to acknowlege that I did receive a message from the Naptown World Order that said that DMP, Bad Boy Johnny Black and Diamond Dawg were responsible for the fire in Wilkes Barre that “claimed” the life of Mr McMahon…THANKS BOYS! NOW Adam Simmons owners of themidwestinsider.com did his report today claiming HE killed Mister McMahon and said he would be making another statement on Monday…

It’s time for another Independent Wrestling News update on the Indy Wrestle Line, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme.
OK--Which one of you blew up Vince McMahon? I have to admit the WWE outdid the Soprano’s with their ending Monday night. I am sure it will be the only thing we hear about the rest of the year because Vince has a tendency of milking a good thing. Personally I think it was Eric Bischoff and the NWO of Hall and Nash….cause paybacks are a good thing--sometimes! NOW, what upset me and MANY who have been in this business for a long time, was the use of a “10-Bell salute” Tuesday night on ECW to further their angle or storyline. The “10-Bell Salute” is very sacred in this business and should not be made light of in the fashion that McMahon did. It is an out and out slap in the face to the business and to all of the fallen wrestlers and workers who have been honored for many years. Of course McMahon has NO respect for this business, only his wallet…
Now to a brighter subject….had a few calls asking about Shawn Cook and the address to send get well cards and letters. I received a nice e-mail from Shawn Tuesday night and I won’t go into detail, but is home and has started his recovery. He said he is hoping things to be back to normal in 3-4 weeks…and yes he mentioned getting back into the ring, so he is looking forward to it which is fantastic. The address to send Shawn a card or letter is
Guy Lombardo
c/o Just Smokes

Got to send out a birthday shoutout to one of our callers…Zach in Indianapolis is celebrating a birthday today….

Hello everyone and welcome to your Independent Wrestling News update on the Indy Wrestle Line, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme.
An update on NWA-Indiana co-owner Shawn Cook. Shawn underwent successful surgery yesterday at an Indianapolis Hospital and is expected to be sent home as early as Saturday which is great news for all of his friends. According to his brother Guy, they found more a little more damage during surgery. It will be a long recovery road for Shawn but we know the type of guy that Shawn is and we will be seeing him real soon….
We would like for everyone to also remember Scott Steiner in your thoughts as Scott continues to recover in a San Juan, Puerto Rico hospital after being injured at a TNA house show this past weekend.
Scott suffered damage to his trachea when he was kicked in the throat in a tag match on Saturday and is currently listed in serious condition.
Did want to mention a show that I failed to talk about on the Wednesday update….that is Underground Championship Wrestling. The show takes place tonight at Steve’s Gym, 916 N Michigan in Elkhart. Among matches on the card is the finals of the UCW Tag Team Tournament. The belltime is at 7pm.
Wednesday night in Evansville, Coliseum Championship Wrestling was in action…
"The Baker" Josh Jewell defeated Dr. Blue
JP Lightning pinned "CHAMPION" "The Killa" Billy Hardaway to become the new CCW Lightweight Champion
Ophidian pinned Lince Dorado
Daizee Haze defeated Sara Del Rey
"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush pinned Claudio Castagnoli
"Marvelous" Mitch Ryder defeated "The No Pain Train" Gypsy Joe
and in the MAIN EVENT it was a Bunkhouse brawl match for the CCW Heavyweight Title and Tracy Smothers pinned the Champion "The Texas Hangman" Lonestar to win the title..
By the way, CCW now has an official website www.coliseumprowrestling.com. And a BIG thanks to Big Lee, my main man down in Southern Indiana for sending me those results…
