Hello everyone and welcome to your Indy Wrestle Line Independent report I am the Weekend Warrior Randy Klemme.
The results keep coming in from this past weekend and we will get to some of those in a minute or so...
First off, let's talk about some of our callers who left messages.....Robert Rush...THANKS for the trip down memory lane. Robert read some results from back in 1999 that I had sent to Pro Wrestling Illustrated....It was fun to hear The Country Boys win another one. I did have a caller asking me who my favorite tag team partner was....I have had several through the last 9 years from Otter and Jed to Basher, Kidd and Itch. I have to say that tagging with Cousin Otter was the funnest--the original Country Boys!
Also had a caller from Bowling Greeen, Kentucky wanting to know some other hotline numbers while his computer is down. Leave me a message again and let me know if you are looking for news or individual organization hotlines, I will see what I can do

Hello everyone and welcome to the Indy Wrestle Line Independent report, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme
Well the toxicology reports are in and there was Steroids, testosterone, and Xanax in the body of Chris Benoit. Drugs were also found in his wife Nancy and son Daniel. Those findings will probably close the case, HOWEVER I still hold onto the fact that I personally believe Chris Benoit didn’t kill his family and there was an outside party involved. I will continue to hold onto that thought UNTIL I am proven wrong…
A quick clarification on Classic Championship Wrestling in Louisville. They DID lose their lease on their building in the Portland area of Louisville however they will be running shows the next two Saturdays and also next Tuesday in that building on Northwestern Parkway. They have NOT closed down and are looking for a new building.
A follow-up on this past weekends Hall of Fame Awards banquet in New Albany, I understand their were 6 wrestlers and 10 fans that showed up for the event. While I still say an Indiana Independent Wrestling Hall of Fame is a GREAT idea….this didn’t come off too well due to poor publicity and the makeup of the event.
Jim in Maryland called and asked if Bo Bo Brazil, Jr and Sabu ever wrestled each other similar to the big feuds that Bo Bo Brazil and the Sheik had many years ago. Jim, I remember those feuds that stretched from Cobo Hall in Detroit to the Kiel in St Louis and the Chicago Stadium…..BUT I don’t think that Bo Jr and Sabu have worked against one another. Maybe someone can shed some more light on that subject. Keep in mind that Bo Jr is NOT a blood relative of Bo Bo Brazil.
Now let’s get to some more results from this past weekend….
USWF action from McKinney, Kentucky on Saturday night
"The Black Redneck" Kliff Hanger and Joey Knight won by pin over Matt Sharp and Kevin Grace
Lincoln Walker pinned The Dream Weaver
Country Cuzzin' Jed and Flapjack won by pin over The Fat -N- Furious

Rated-X and Dustin P.
And "Smooth" Johnny Spade won by DQ over USWF Champion "The Big Dawg" Cujo
---------------------
AAW action from Berwyn, Illinois Saturday night

Don’t forget if you would like to get in touch with me in regards to wrestling questions or comments you can find me on myspace at myspace.com/rklemme or you can e-mail me at rklemme@verizon.net or better yet leave them after the tone at the end of this report on the Indy Wrestle Line on option #2...

Hello everyone and welcome to the Sunday Indy Wrestle Line Independent report, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme
First let’s head to some news about local wrestlers working shows outside of the Midwest….NWA-Indiana’s Billy Roc had a good showing at the Jeff Peterson Cup in Port Richey, Florida Saturday night for Night #2 but lost his match against Gouge’s Krazy K. It was a good tournament for Billy picking up a win Friday night in Orlando. Chris Hero defeated Matt Cross in the finals to win the 2007 Peterson Cup…
In Philadelphia, Drake Younger and Scotty Vorteks competed in the CZW Best of the Best Seven tournament over the weekend. Younger lost his opening round match to Joker, who was the eventual winner of the tournament. Scotty Vorteks won his opening round match against Cloudy but lost in the sem finals in a four-way as Joker defeated Vorteks, the Human Tornado and Ricky Reyes.
From what I have learned, the first annual independent wrestling hall of fame induction ceremony and awards is taking place Sunday afternoon in New Albany, Indiana. The event is being co-ordinated by Bo Bo Brazil, Jr. There will be awards for Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, Tag Team, lady wrestler and manager of the year as well as the hall of fame induction. I was told from one person scheduled to be inducted into the hall of fame that he received a call that he was going to have to pay $15 to get into the building for the ceremony and there was no dinner with the ticket as it was extra. It’s kind of strange….you get honored to go into a hall of fame, BUT you have to pay for a ticket to get inducted……………hummm, sounds like a scam to me for someone to make money. While the Hall of Fame and awards is a good idea, it makes no sense to CHARGE an honoree to get into the building….
Well yesterday we told you about UCW’s home at Steve’s Gym being destroyed by fire Friday and CCW losing their lease in Louisville and has stopped running shows in Portland for the moment….NOW word comes that Heartland Wrestling Association has closed it’s doors in Cincinnati. It is sad to see one of the top indies in the US over the last 10 years cease operations. HWA at one time was a training area for WCW and the WWE. I have been told there is a problem with who actually owns the HWA name and a show is being scheduled for July 27th in Bellefontaine, Ohio according to the HWA website, HOWEVER it is not known what name will be used.
Let’s send a quick birthday shout out to AWA-Supreme’s Chris Blayze who celebrates a birthday on Tuesday of this week….
NOW let’s get to some weekend results….
Saturday night, EWF had their weekly show at the EWF Arena in Marion…
Wildman Rogers beat Willie Loseagain
Andrew Troyae beat EWF Ladies Champion Camron Star to win the title
Bob beat Dark Lion
EWF Midwestern Champion Nate Pheonix beat Cupid Valentino
And it was Just Justin beat Big Ric Cannon to win the vacant EWF New Era title that was stripped from Indy Kid Jay West…
EWF is back in action next Saturday at 7:30 at the EWF Arena, 3400 S Adams in Marion and don’t forget August 18th is the date Rikishi and Traci Brooks will be at the EWF Arena, and a limited number of seats still remain for that show. You can go to their website at www.ewfarena.com for more details…
---------------------------
Northern Wrestling Federation was at the UAW Hall in Fairfield, Ohio Saturday night…
Clutch McAllister & Unified Champion Christopher Michael Lotus defeated The Zodiacs
The Crybaby pinned Dr. Melvin Winkleman with a missile dropkick.
Benjamin Kimera defeated Austin Meddler
The Genuine Superstar Anthony Bryant defeated Ice in a No DQ Match to become the new Tri-State Champion.
The Protected Ones (Roger Ruffen, Muldoon, and NWF Champion Ryan Stone) wrestled The Hippies (Jesse Hyde & Pompano Joe) and Stewie Backlund to a no contest
Tiny Tim defeated T-Money & The American Eagle in a Triple Threat match.
And Benjamin Kimera won the battle royal, last eliminating Austin Meddler & Dr. Melvin Winkleman with a double clothesline.
---------------------
On Friday in front of approximately 400 fans at the Decatur Twp Fair on the southwest side of Indianapolis, Wild Championship Wrestling Outlaws was in action
Baron Von Kane won a Battle Royal
Willie Looseagain defeated Camron Star
Ryan Rich won over "Bad Boy" Billy Bart
Devan Monroe pinned Big John Hurtz
WCWO Midwest Champion Apocalypz defeated Gay Guy Lombardo
Pogo defeated Baron Von Kane
And it was Indiana Kidd Jr defeating "Dangerous Bull" Don Basher

Hello everyone and welcome to the Saturday Indy Wrestle Line Independent report, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme
We lead off today with great news from Night #1 of the Jeff Peterson Cup in Orlando, Florida as “Pure Dynamite” Billy Roc defeated Seth Delay in the first round of the “Reckless Youth” bracket to advance in the tourney. Billy defeated Delay in 6:53. Now Bill will face Gouge’s Krazy K Kirby Mack in the finals of the bracket in Port Richey, Florida tonight. Other bracket final matches tonight include, Chris Hero taking on Erick Stevens……Chasyn Rance against Adam Flash and Matt Cross vs. “the Marquee” Bruce Santee. Hopefully we can be talking good news tomorrow from Florida…
Well we received word that Steve’s Gym in Elkhart was destroyed by fire Friday morning. Steve’s housed Friday night shows for Underground Championship Wrestling for the last few months. Steve Travis, the owner of the gym said in a newspaper article the fire may have started in the office area. The building also contained five other businesses. No word yet on future UCW shows.
Word from Louisville is that Classic Championship Wrestling has stopped running shows and are now looking for a new building. Apparently they lost the lease at the arena in Portland.
Another shout out goes out to Tim in Niles, OHIO, sorry that I said Michigan the Other day. Chris Blayze is a friend of mine and he has worked for me on a couple of the shows that I promoted here in Indiana, so I know his work ethic and style. The MySpace thing Tim was a friend helping a friend. I don’t do it for everyone. I also do it for a lot of promotions working on promoting their shows and things like that…SO if you are on my MySpace friends list-----you will probably be hearing from me again!
Thanks to all of the people that called and left comments on the number of wrestling promotions in the state of Indiana. It was pretty much agreed that there are too many but nothing stops people from running their own shows and using much of the same talent around the state. Promotions SHOULD have respect for one another though when trying to run in the same buildings or areas. There are no so-called territories for promotions, however everyone knows or should know where each other runs. One caller did bring up the fact, that it would be nice if a wrestler is working as a heel in one organization, they should be working as a heel in other organizations, but there is no way of getting everyone to work together. One caller even went as far as to say it would be great to have an organization that has a schedule like WCWO and the talent pool of IPW. The only way you could control the number of organizations in the state would be to have a wrestling commission like in Kentucky to monitor the groups, HOWEVER we don’t want that in Indiana….
Coming up tonight around the Midwest there are a variety of wrestling shows….
EWF is back at the EWF Arena, 3400 S Adams Street in Marion for their weekly Saturday night show. Scheduled on the card are Midwest Champion Nate Phoenix and Ladies Champion Camron Star. Tickets are $8 at the door and belltime is at 7:30...
AWA-Supreme will have their weekly show at 821 Main Street in Madison with a 7:30 belltime. Supreme Champion Billy Maverick, Mid-American Champion Damien Divine and TV Champion John Stratlin are scheduled on the card in Madison.
New Focus Wrestling will be in action at the CK Newsome Center in Evansville, Indiana tonight with a 6:30 belltime. Brian Christopher, Bill Dundee, The Naturals, and Jamie Dundee are all on that card tonight. Tickets are available at the door….
New Midwest Wrestling is at the American Center, 1401 Griffiths Street in Springfield, IL with a 7pm Central Belltime.
Hybrid Pro Wrestling is at the FCRC Arena in Fremont, Ohio with a 7pm belltime. LAX will take on Faith n Nothing on that card in Fremont, Ohio. Front Row reserved tickets are $15.00 and General Admission tickets are $10.00

Gen-X Wrestling is at the National Guard Armory in Ravenna, Kentucky with an 8pm belltime

Hello everyone and welcome to the Indy Wrestle Line Independent report, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme
Still getting a lot of phone messages in regards to wrestlers and fans opinions on the situation between IWA MidSouth and Fight Sports Midwest. Thanks for all of your calls because it is always interesting to hear comments from the fans.
On the Midwest Insider Message Board comes word of a new wrestling promotion getting ready to fire up in the Indianapolis area, called Naptown Wrestling or NTW. From what I understand it will be run by someone who doesn’t have much experience inside the professional wrestling game. Hopefully they will find someone with experience that can guide them along. My question to everyone is, how many indy wrestling organizations are too many for Indiana? At last count there are between 15-20 maybe even more. Several use the same talent on their shows as well. Do you think there are too many or is there always room for more? I would like to hear your thoughts and comments…leave them after this report or you can drop me an e-mail.
Tim from Niles, Michigan called and left me a message about my comment to him on wrestlers using MySpace to promote themselves. Literally hundreds of wrestlers and promoters are using MySpace these days to work the business and to network out in hopes of getting matches with other promotions. I forwarded a message from Chris Blayze, who was sending out a feeler for bookings. I forwarded his message to all on my friends list on MySpace in hopes of getting him some better coverage. That is just the way MySpace works. It is cheap, and it works. Sorry Tim that you disagreed for what I was doing…..but we still share the love of pro wrestling!
------------------------
Don’t forget the big Jeff Peterson Memorial tournament comes up this Friday and Saturday in Florida and our very own “Pure Dynamite” Billy Roc will be involved.
Friday night they are in Orlando, Florida and Billy wrestles in the Reckless Youth bracket and will take on APW-GA’s “Kool” Seth Delay. The other bracket match will have GOUGE’s Krazy K against Shimmer’s Allison Danger. We will try to keep you updated on the Peterson Cup as much as we can throughout the weekend.
-----------------------------
Wild Championship Wrestling Outlaws will have a FREE show Friday night at the Decatur Township Fair at Decatur Central High School on the southwest side of Indianapolis. Belltime is at 7:30pm…
Also Friday night, OVW will be at Six Flag’s Kentucky Kingdom and Northern Wrestling Federation will be at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Wilmington, Ohio starting at 8pm.
---------------------------
Wednesday night it was Coliseum Championship Wrestling action in Evansville….
Dr. Blue defeated Josh Jewell by disqualification
"CCW Lightweight Champion" JP Lightning pinned Billy Hardaway
Mark Anthony pinned Tim Renesto
"The Texas Hangman" Lonestar defeated Pothead Just John
and it was "CCW Heavyweight Champion" Tracy Smothers and "Simply Marvelous" Mitch Ryder going to a double countout

Hello everyone and welcome to the Indy Wrestle Line Independent report, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme
First off I want to thank all who left messages after the report over the weekend and also e-mailed me with views on the IWA MidSouth/Fight Sports Midwest situation. Hopefully things will remedy themselves between the two groups soon. One consensus of opinion in the calls and e-mails is that there is NO respect in the business any more, especially when it comes to promoters working in areas that are already established by another group. Honestly in Indiana, there are just too many groups running shows and it is bound to happen sooner or later in the big cities, HOWEVER in the outlying areas, promoters pretty much knows who runs what areas and tries to stay out of the areas. IWA MidSouth did run a show earlier this year in Shelby County near where New Era Wrestling runs shows in Shelbyville. Now I guess we need to talk respect again from what I earlier described---BUT ANYWAY
------------------------
Don’t forget the big Jeff Peterson Memorial tournament comes up this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Florida and our very own “Pure Dynamite” Billy Roc will be involved. On our next report we will go over the night one matches in more details….

Hello everyone and welcome to the Indy Wrestle Line Independent report for a Sunday, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme
Apparently there is some heat going on between two indy organizations in northwest Indiana, which has now caused a familiar local indy wrestler to pull out of a tournament.
“Pure Dynamite” Billy Roc has cancelled his appearance in the August 3rd Fight Sports Midwest tournament where he was scheduled to take on Bryan Danielson. From some of the accounts Billy has said that he was told that if he appeared on the FSM show he would not be allowed to compete in the IWA MidSouth TPI tournament coming up later this year. Roc cancellation is apparently due to some heat between IWA MidSouth and Fight Sports Midwest over a mutual building being used in Midlothian, Illinois. Ian Rotten has since claimed in a post on his website that FSM uses many of the talent that IWA MidSouth has “founded and developed“? The question is, is Ian saying that he FOUND Billy Roc? What happened to being trained by Dory Funk, at WCWO and the many other trainers he has had over the past several years. It sounds like Ian is trying to put Billy in the middle of the situation and not trying to look like the bad guy in the whole situation. One thing Ian is right about and that is a “gentleman’s” agreement in wrestling to not run a building someone is already running WITHOUT calling the original group first. Ian of all people should know there is no respect anymore when it comes to promoters and buildings. I know that first hand from trying to run shows in my hometown. HOPEFULLY IWA MidSouth and Fight Sports Midwest can work things out in the end. What are your thoughts on the whole situation. Should Indy wrestlers have the right to work where they want WITHOUT being threatened to be pulled off of shows? Should indy organizations have exclusive contracts and pay their wrestlers properly for not working other shows? I am interested in hearing your thoughts…just leave them after the tone at the end of this report….
It is really sad to see the name of my friend Johnny Grunge being brought up and also raked through the mud along with the Benoit investigation. Those close to him knew what was going on in his personal life and he was trying to clean himself up. Johnny even talked to a minister at one of the fair booths when he appeared with RWF in Cayuga, Indiana in 2005. The minister gave him a small bible and Johnny took it back with him to the locker room, looked at it and then put it in his bag. Now he is bring drug into the Benoit investigation because of his connection with Dr Astin as authorities are now saying that Grunge introduced Benoit to the Doctor. I am sure Johnny’s name will not be the only name brought out in the investigation. Soon we will be hearing the names of Eddy Guerrero, Curt Hennig and I am sure many others that had ties to Dr Astin. I am just afraid this whole thing is FAR from over.
On My MySpace page I was sent a real nice video that I have posted about many of our fallen wrestlers over the last several years. It is a rough, put together piece and I am not sure who the creator was, but it is interesting to watch. It is on my MySpace page at myspace.com/rklemme .
I had a caller asking about an update on Shawn Cook. I have not yet had a chance to talk to him personally yet, but would like to soon. From what I have been told, Shawn is doing well and is progressing with life. From what I hear, September is the earliest goal for a return to wrestling. When I talk to him more I will pass it along.
Thanks to Jim in Western Maryland for calling and letting us know about a friend of his who appeared on Smackdown this week. His friend is Drew Hankinson and appeared as Festus. Drew and his tag partner Ray Gordy have been working as the Dalton’s in OVW and are ready to head up to Smackdown. People might remember Drew Hankinson as the “other” Kane a couple of years ago. Thanks again to Jim and great to hear from you…

Hello everyone and welcome to the Indy Wrestle Line Independent report, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme
Well the investigation is continuing into the Benoit Family tragedy near Atlanta, and now investigators have brought the case of the death of Johnny Grunge into the picture. The main part of the investigation is centering around the personal physician of Chris Benoit, Dr Astin of Carollton, Georgia. Apparently, Astin had given Grunge a prescription for 120 soma pills just before he died. The coroner report said that Grunge died of heart disease and morbid obesity but also found Soma in his system. Authorities say that the pill bottle for the Somas was found empty at the home where Johnny died. Grunge is not the only former wrestler to have gone to Dr Astin for medication and that is what authorities are looking into. Grunge was a neighbor of Benoit near Peachtree City. The saga continues…
Next week is the big Jeff Peterson Cup in Florida. Our very own “Pure Dynamite” Billy Roc will be competing in the tournament along with some of the top cruiserweights from across the country and we will be touching on that in the coming days.
