Hello everyone and welcome to your Saturday update on the Indy Wrestle Line, I am the weekend warrior Randy Klemme.
Well today marks a new chapter for the Weekend Warrior, as the owner of the Indy Wrestle Line has decided to move the independent reports to option #2 on the indy wrestle line, BUT that means the Weekend Warrior reports will NOW be on the Indy Wrestle Line 24/7. THAT’S RIGHT, anytime of the day you can dial the Indy Wrestle Line to get independent wrestling news 7 days a week on option #2. I would like to thank Adam for having the confidence in me to keep this option updated….
In some news, Lafayette’s “Pure Dynamite” Billy Roc will be having a VERY busy Summer as if he doesn’t already have a busy schedule. The Chikara promotion in Pennsylvania announced this week that Roc will be apart of their Young Lions tournament on June 22nd, 23rd and 24th…..the following week, Roc will be in Philadelphia with IWA MidSouth at the famed ECW Arena and then in July, he will be in the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup in Florida on the 13th and 14th of July. His opening round match was announced this week as he will be in a 3-way with Sal Rinaro and Seth Delay.
Talking more about some of the local indy wrestling talent….The Soul Shooters, Drew Skilz and Q Skilz are the current reigning tag team champions in AWA-Brew City Wrestling in Milwaukee. They were in Dunkirk, Indiana last night against the Jihad and I’ll have those results in a bit…
And next Saturday, June 9th Drake Younger, Vorteks and Diehard Dustin Lee will all be competing in the CZW Tournament of Death in Smyrna, Delaware.
Well, With the start of the month brings a large schedule of events this weekend around the Midwest, so let’s get right into where there will be independent shows today…
First off this afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, Classic Championship Wrestling will be have an outdoor FREE show as a part of the Portland Festival at 34th and Northwestern Parkway. Belltime is at 3:30 Louisville time this afternoon…There will also be a second show starting at 7:30pm Louisville Time tonight…
Then tonight, Extreme Wrestling Federation will be welcoming former WWE Star Tank Toland, former AWA Star Pat Tanaka and former OVW Star Seth Skyfire to the EWF Arena at 3400 S Adams in Marion, Indiana. Tickets are $12 and children 5 and under and FREE. Belltime is at 7pm in Marion.
In Madison, Indiana, AWA Supreme will have their weekly show at 821 West Main Street. Belltime there is at 7:30pm…
Total All Star Wrestling will be in action tonight at the National Guard Armory in Scottsburg, Indiana. Belltime there is 8pm
In Ohio, Mad Pro Wrestling has a giant show tonight at the National Guard Armory in Chillicothe, Ohio. Front row tickets are $15 and general admission is $12. This is the second night of MPW’s two year anniversary celebration. On the card will be Matt Stryker, BJ Whitmer, Cody Hawk among others. Doors open at 7 and belltime is at 8pm tonight…
It’s fan appreciate night at New Era Wrestling at Spear’s Gym, 7505 Hamilton Avenue in Mt Healthy, Ohio on the outskirts of Cincinnati. Doors open at 7 and belltime is at 8pm. On the sard you will see NEW Heavyweight Champion Nikita Allanov, Midwest Independent Champion Garf Redman and the “Big Texan” Marc Houston among others. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 at the door…
In Kentucky, Gen-X Wrestling will be at the Morgan County Middle School in West Liberty, Kentucky. Belltime there is at 8pm….
Also the Mountain Wrestling Association will be in action at the Estill Street Jubilee in Mount Sterling, Kentucky with a 7:30pm belltime…
And in Illinois, Shimmer will have the second night of their two-night tournament at the Eagles Club in Berwyn, Illinois, to crown the first ever Champion. There is some great lady wrestling talent in this tournament. Tickets tonight are $15 at the door and the show starts at 4PM Central Time
And finally Elite Pro Wrestling will be in action tonight at the VFW Hall in Steger, Illinois. Belltime is at 6:30 Central Time.
Hopefully we will have results tomorrow from many of these shows and I am sure there are others going on this weekend as well that are not included in this list.
Tomorrow is another BIG day around the Midwest with shows in Lafayette with NWA Indiana….Crossroads Championship Wrestling in Terre Haute and Cleveland All pro Wrestling will be having a big TV Taping tomorrow in Cleveland. We will cover those shows tomorrow…
