Ring of Honor will not be stripping The Briscoe's of their Tag Team Titles, even though Mark Briscoe will be out of action for 3-6 monthes. Mark Briscoe was attacked by The Age of the Fall, Saturday in Chicago and sustained ligament damage in his wrist. ROH Officials have decided to allow Jay Briscoe to find a replacement partner and continue to defend the Tag Titles.

Top Notch Wrestling in Fortville, IN will be holding a wrestling clinic with former WWE superstar Rob Conway. The clinic will cost $50 and be held May 17th. To sign up for this seminar contact tjkemp1978@yahoo.com

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla out of California has signed a nationwide DVD deal with Big Vision Entertainment. PWG DVDs will be available in retail outlets starting July 15th with their first release "PWG Sells Out".

CZW has announced 3 more names for their May 10th "Best of the Best" tournament. Chuck Taylor, Ricochet, and Drew Gulak join already announced Pinky Sanchez, Sabian, and Josh Prohibition in the 8th occurence of this tournament.

XLW in Indianapolis had it's debut show this weekend and held the first rounds of their Heavyweight and Tag Team Title Tournaments. Advancing in the Heavyweight Tournament were CJ Otis and Flash Flanigan. In the Tag Tournament, The Soul Shooters and American History Next both adavanced to the second round.

Billy Roc becme the first BMF Wrestling Alliance Champion this Sunday in Lafayette, IN by defeating "The Beast" Brian Roberts.

Local reminder CCW will be in Evansille, IN Wednesday. The Main Event of the evening will be Pothead John facing CCW Champion JP Lightning.

ICW in Milwaukee, WI will be holding their annual 4/20 Classic at the Liquor Sweets Bar on Sunday.

NECW Spring Breakdown April 26!

New England Championship Wrestling returns to live action on Saturday night,
April 26th at the National Guard Armory, 1000 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA for
SPRING BREAKDOWN. Bell time is 7:00 PM.

The main event is a very special triple threat match with the NECW Triple Crown
Championship on the line. Champion, Big Rick Fuller has been ordered to defend
against not one, but two opponents at SPRING BREAKDOWN. Antonio "The Promise"
Thomas, who missed his chance against Fuller due to injury last month, had
negotiated his way into a title shot for April 26th. However, last month, the
giant-like Max Bauer won the #1 contender position defeating "Die Hard" Eddie
Edwards. While Bauer was not successful against Fuller last month, the
championship committee citing the controversial way last month's match ended,
has granted Bauer the chance to both go after Fuller's title and get revenge on
Antonio Thomas at the same time. This is one battle where anything could
happen!

NECW Tag Team Champions, "Rocket" Fred Curry and Chase Del Monte have signed a
return match against PRIDE (Dan Freitas & Brian Nunes) with the titles on the
line. Last month, PRIDE turned on Curry & Del Monte after coming up short in
their match, delivering a vicious post-match attack. The champions have
demanded another match against the former NECW & PWF Tag Team Champions - one of
the most storied teams in the history of the promotion. PRIDE have made it
clear that they are going all out to recapture the tag team titles and dominate
the tag team division in NECW.

In a special grudge match, it will be "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards taking up the
cause of D.C. Dillinger, who was suspended last month for his attack on Elektra
Arion. It will be Edwards taking on "The Golden Greek" Alex Arion in what
should be a heated contest.

Also signed for SPRING BREAKDOWN is a special IRON 8 Showcase Match. The 5th
Annual IRON 8 Championship will be taking place in Quincy on Saturday night, May
31 and this match will be viewed by the championship committee to determine who
may be granted a spot in this year's tournament. It will be "The Real Deal"
Brandon Locke, who was a finalist in last year tournament, facing Team Cairo
member, Scott Osbourne.

In a World Women's Wrestling feature match, former WWW Champion, Lexxus sees
action against Amber.

The self-proclaimed "Future Superstar" Ryan Matthews squares off the Oriental
star, Makoto, who will be making his debut in Quincy.

All this, plus Jason Blade and Team Nightmare in action and more.

NECW Home Video is releasing BIRTHDAY BASH 7: CAGED FURY on DVD next week. The
7th anniversary card for New England Championship Wrestling is topped by a

Edge" Brian Fury inside a steel cage!

The DVD features never-before-seen footage and bonus features.

This Friday night, NECW returns to Brockton at the South Middle School for a
private fundraising event, which is only open to the school community.

To update a previous story former ECW and now PWU promoter Tod Gordon has announced his retirement from professional wrestling after a 20 year career.

You can add Tony Devito to the list of former ECW Originals to have a wrestling academy. Devito will open a school this summer based in Newburgh, NY. The class will be about 3 months and for more information you can contact Tony himself at TDevito@aol.com

IWA Mid South released that they will hold a World Title Tournament on 5/3 in Joliet, IL(due to the title being stripped from Eddie Kingston last Saturday). Participants already announced are Chris Hero, Chuck Taylor, BJ Whitmer, Brodie Lee, and Vito Thomaselli.

Wrestling Legend Beautiful Bobby Eaton was hospitalized yesterday and is in the ICU. Stacey Cornette (Jim's wife) posted on WrestlingClassics.com's message board that Eaton was admitted for a recurrence of a previous heart issue, but is scheduled to be transferred from the ICU late today.

EWF has announced the first participant for it's 5th Annual X8 Tournament will be BJ Whitmere.

Speaking of EWF their weekly show in Marion, IN will feature Bob taking on Dark Lion in a No DQ match for The Midwestern Title.

Also in action this week, XLW in Indianapolis, IN at 8604 S Meridian St. with their debut show Alpha Dawn featuring Cody Hawk taking on Flash Flanigan.

The event will take place at the EWF Arena on 3400 S. Adams in Marion, IN 46953.
BJ Whitmer is an accomplished independent wrestler that has held the ROH Tag Team Championship, HWA Title, IWA MS Title, and many other championships across the USA. On June 14th, Whitmer returns to the EWF Arena to add the EWF X8 trophy to his resume.

Flights being cancelled across the world have had independent show rosters in all kinds of turmoil. Please take that in mind when reading results or attending shows that who ever didn't appear where ever, these situations are beyond the wrestler's and the promotion's control.

IWC in Franklin, PA has a huge line up with their legend's show tonight. Matches on the card include Demolition vs The Powers of Pain, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake vs Greg " The Hammer" Valentine, Marty Jannetty vs Virgil, Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs John McChesney, and Abdullah The Butcher vs Tommy Rich. Also on top of that Ricky Reyes, M Dogg 20, Jimmy Hart, Johnny Gargano, Facade, and Raymond Rowe. This is a stellar card for the price of tickets too with them ranging from $8 to $25.

Raven defeated The AWF Heavyweight Champion TNT for the his title last night in Australia. Raven's first defense of the belt will be tonight against " Platinum Player" JT Robinson.

There will be a Shane Douglas training seminar put on by NWA3000 Fighting Atheletes and The Revolution Peroresu Dojo on May 10th from 10am to 12 pm for only $40. In closing in the huge rumor department(I say that because this story has yet to be confirmed), Tod Gordon(former ECW promoter) is said to be leaving his promotion Pro Wrestling Unplugged in June. The reason for his leaving and the future of the promotion is still unknown.

Koch Vision is producing two more Ring of Honor DVDs, as reported in a news item on PWInsider.com April 10. The two releases will be titled Best in the World and Greatest Rivalries. The scheduled release date for both is July 8.

Road Warrior Animal just shot a shoot interview for RF Video. Animal didn't hold anything back during this interview, talking about his and The Road Warrior's legendary career, including the passing of his longtime partner Hawk. I will keep you updated on when this interview will be released.

IWA Mid South will be in action with two huge shows this weekend. Friday April 11th's show "A Bloody Road Ahead" will take place in Indianapolis, IN (6601 Coffman Rd. 46268). Saturday's show " April Blood Showers" will be in Joliet, IL(511 N Collins St.).

On March 29th a promotion in Racine, WI gave a free car away to a lucky fan. The kicker of the contest was that the free give away car was a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix that didn't even work, what a prize.

The next match was scheduled to be a Mid-American Title match between Joey Owens and Botch, but Greg Carey said he is using his power of 1/2 owner of IPW to change it. He brings out Hillbilly Jedd (Carey is in control of Jed's contract) to team with his old partner Owens. It was going to be a handicap match, however, during the match Botch's partner Cyanide made a surprising return to make it a tag team match.

After the match, Botch announces that this will be his last match in IPW. He informs the fans that he has been fighting cancer and has been given only a few years to live. The IPW locker room comes out to applaud Botch for his contributions.

Mike Williams announces that Davey Richards will return to IPW on June 7th. Also, Mike invites Davey Richards to be the first entrant into the 2008 Super Junior Heavyweight Tournament on September 6th. Richards accepts.
9) Jr. Heavyweight Champion Billy Roc beat Sami Callihan, Shiima Xion, & Ricochet in a 4 way lucha match
This match ended in some controversy as it appeared that Roc pinned Xion and Callihan pinned Ricochet simultaneously. The referee counted Roc's pin and award him the match. Callihan was upset after the match, whic lead Commissioner Garza to announce that Sami would get a title shot in June.

The show opened with General Lee & Wildman Rogers coming out and running down the fans... a couple fans in particular at ringside... Lee grabbed a hold of one of them which prompted EWF Security to step in between them... after a bit of scuffle between the Security Guard and Southern Express... Hurricane came out and let Lee & Wildman know they were not allowed to touch the fans and not to mess with Security.... Lee spoke up and challenged the security guard to a match.... Hurricane talked to the guard and then agreed saying Wildman & Lee would face EWF Security tonight....

Hank hit Jackson in the face with a pair of brass knuckles...
Wildman & General Lee came to the ring and called in the Security Guard from earlier so they could fight 2 on 1... Hurricane came out and told the pair that he set the match for them to face EWF Security, not just one member of security but all 3 who were at the arena tonight. After some complaining from Lee & Wildman the match took place...

CZW has announced the following additions to their April 5th show in Philly, the match up of DJ Hyde vs Whacks. Also the team of Two Girls and One Cup (Beef Wellington and Sexxxy Eddie) announced that their thrid that night would be the best guy the could get since Lufisto already has a match is Player Uno, this team will be taking on Brodie Lee and the team of Cheech and Cloudy. CZWrestling.com has stated that more additions to the Winner Takes All match will be announced before the show.

This weekend also has a very important show in Ohio, The 10th Anniversary Brian Pillman Memorial show also on the 5th. This show will take place in the city of Norwood and is being put on by the promotion known as Ego Pro Wrestling to of course benefit the surviving members of The Pillman Family. For only 10$ you will get some great action from this show. On this show you will see some great talent like former WWE/WCW superstars Ro'Z, Jamie Dundee from PG13, and Above Average Mike Sanders. You'll also see Independent stars like Mitch Ryder, Bull Pain, BJ Whitmore, The American Kickboxer, JD Micheals and numerous others. I'm sure there will be a surprise or two as there has been every time they have run this event.

Also this Saturday on more of a local scene Hoosier Pro Wrestling will be running a show in Columbus, IN @ the 4H fairgrounds with 10$ tickets. HPW has former WWE star Eugene that night. EWF is in Marion, IN at EWF Arena located at 1300 S Adams St. with their weekly show with 8$ tickets I believe. SCW will be in Madison, IN for it's weekly show. One more Insanity Pro Wrestling will be in action @ 1337 S. Shelby St in The Salvation Army Gym with 12$ adult tickets. One half of the ROH Tag Team Champions Davey Richards will be facing Carlton Kaz that evening.

Heres some title changes and crownings from this weekend:

2 Cold Scorpio defeated John Walters w/ Missy Hyatt to become the new Big Time Wrestling Champion on Saturday in Danbury, CT. DDP was the special guest ref.

Saturday, Big Vito won the UXW United States Championship from Vordell Walker in Orlando, FL.

In Greensburg, IN on Saturday, Joey "Kidd" Owens and Whipme Spears won the WCWO Tag Team Titles by defeating Kenneth James & Apocalypse.

Also WWA Indy in Indianapolis, IN ran a show and crowned Onyx their new champion. Due to not having complete results I do not know who his opponent was.

Some general independent news:

CZW has added two more participants to their Winner Takes All match for this Saturday, Stupified and Spyral. The match will have one pinfall and the winner gets entry to a tournament of their choosing and picks their first round of opponent.

HWA has announced a training seminar for trained wrestlers with current ROH Champion and 2x former HWA Champion Nigel McGuinness on April 25th in Evendale, OH @ The Sports Plus Building on 10765 Reading Rd. from 1pm to 5pm. Cost is $50.00, and the top 3 wrestlers in the seminar(chosen by Nigel) will compete in the 20 Man Pick Your Poison Battle Royal @ Hyper Clash 3 later that night. If interested send your name and promotions worked for to HWAREBORN@yahoo.com, to register. You can also visit their website or myspace to pay online and secure your spot.

OVW announced their Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom schedule for this year, they will run shows every Friday @ 6pm from May 23rd to August 8th.

The NWA has announced that they have reached a deal with Sid Vicious. Sid accepted the deal because the NWA is everywhere( Japan, Mexico, and the United States) and he believes this is the right platform exposure wise for his comeback. Sid will start making appearences for the NWA, April 18th in Rhode Island and April 19th in New Jersey.

CZW has added the second participant to it's "Winner Takes All" match taking place on April 5th in Philly, Lufisto. The winner of this match gets entered into the tournament of their choosing.CZW has also announced that Brain Damage will defend his CZW Iron Man Title against Insane Lane.

In some results I missed over the last weekend, on March 22nd Sooner World Class Wrestling crowned some new champions, Sage won the Cruiserweight Title from Xavior, and their Tag Titles changed hands twice with X Rated winning the titles from Death Row in a title match. Then Nemesis beat X Rated in a tables match to become SWCW Tag Champions.

March 21st was a huge day for Showcase Pro Wrestling in South Attleboro, MA for their 1 year anniversary show. After over 30 minutes into a gauntlet match"Narcisstic" Nicholas Night was declared the winner and crowned the 1st Showcase Heavyweight Champion. Nicholas Night is a 9 year veteran, former title reign included 3-time NWA New England light heavyweight Champion and a former SCCW Coastal Champion.

Another packed Wednesday night at the Davis Arena.

Night starts off with Jamin Olivencia coming to the ring and calling out Joey Matthews. Last week, Joey Matthews assaulted Timmy, (handicap kid on the announce team), and Jamin attacked Joey to the point of having to be pulled off.

This week, Joey comes up on screen saying he can’t defend TV Title against Jamin because he’s been suspended for two weeks. He then shows a video package of him shattering frame over Jamin’s head over and over.

Match 1: JD Michaels v. Rudy Switchblade

Really good match here. Rudy’s just plain fun to watch and JD’s good. JD won with the top-rope elbow.

Mobile Homers jamboree music video is show. This was hilarious and worth watching again. If you don’t get OVW, you can download the episode on ovwrestling.com

Match 2: Apocalypse vs. Dirty Money

Dirty Money won with a backbreaker.

Match 3: Anthony Bravado vs. Morale

Total domination by Bravado. Bravado’s impressive.

Match 4: Johnny Punch vs. Von Lilas

Thought Johnny Punch was getting on a winning streak… not today. Von Lilas wins with an inverted DDT.

Match 5: “IronMan” Rob Conway & Los Locos vs. Insurgency

Insurgency came out with their manager, Ben-Hamim, and the Iraqi flag waving. Los Locos then walked out, right into the crowd with the Southern Tag belts. Didn’t think it could get any louder for Los Locos, but then “Ironman” Rob Conway’s music hit and the place exploded.

Conway wins with his roll of the dice from the top on Ali Akbar. Cool moment seeing an OVW Original like Conway and New School guys like Los Locos in the ring together.

The Rush Report Independent's Day Version 3/25/2008

I'd like to start this update by saying that this report will cover all independent news from across the country, as well as the midwestern area. Now I won't be able to give complete results from every show that happens everywhere, but I will try to keep you as informed as one person can , like the previous hosts of this option. As far as how frequent of these updates will be, I will try to update 2-3 times a week on this option. During the week I will try to give you wrestling fans as much news about upcoming shows for the week and all the announcements from promotions I can that I can fit into a report. Then at the begining of the week I will give the major results from as many shows as I can find. As for what promotions I'll cover, that completely depends on what info from promotions I get or can find and what you the callers/readers want to hear about. If I don't cover something you want to hear/read about tell me, I'll include it in the next report if I can get the info on it. I don't have alot of news today in the report, but this is what I do have.

Fire Pro Wrestling in Merriville, IN crowned a new PRIDE Champion last Saturday "Youngblood" Hayden Kent defeated his brother Christopher Kent in the finals of the Bane's PRIDE 8 man Title Tournament. Fire Pro Wrestling's next show will be April 26th in Merriville and all proceeds from this show (gate and concessions) are being donated to a local Crown Point family man fighting Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.

In Detroit on Saturday, The Soul Shooters regained their Insane Wrestling Federation Tag Team Titles by defeating one half of the defending champs DBA, in a handicap match. Also on the show the debuting Drake Younger won a Insanity Rulz Rumble to face IWF Champion, The Necro Butcher on their next IWF show May 24th for the title.

Hoosier Pro Wrestling crowns First Ever HPW Hardcore Champion

Saturday Night, March 1st, 2008, Hoosier Pro Wrestling was in action at the HPW Arena in Columbus, Indiana. The house was packed, the action was hot, and alot of blood was spilled, as Ox Harley and Pastor Pain battled for the NEW HPW Hardcore Championship.
This match took place in a ring surrounded by barbed wire ropes, and the mat was covered in thumb tacks and table salt. The photo above shows Ox Harley trying to run Pastor Pains head across the barbed wire, and he is successful.
The photo above shows the result of Pastor Pain dropping Ox Harley on his head on top of the thumb tacks and table salt. But Pastor Pain didn't stop their, as he would soon be picking up tacks and pushing them into Ox's head.
Ox Harley had taken all he was going to take, and obtained a chair, wrapped in cloth and covered in Kerosene. He lit the chair ablaze, and brought it down on top of Pastor Pain's head.
Ox Harley then covered the bloody Pastor Pain for the 1 - 2 - 3, and the first ever HPW Hardcore Champion was crowned.

After the match, Ox handed Pastor Pain a beer, and stated he was "One Hardcore Son of a B*****"

IWL#2 Results & some ideas on booking a show

Hello Wrestling Fans and welcome back to Option #2 of the Indy Wrestle Line. It is Monday, February 25th, and I am “Your Indiana Wrestling Reporter & Photographer, Marcus A. Fine.

I would first like to thank Bigfreaky for calling and leaving a couple messages about his take on the workings of the Indy Wrestling scene. Very interesting comments, I enjoy listening to what you have to say. He also wanted to know why I do what I do when it comes to Indiana Pro Wrestling, and due to time restraints, I will have to save that for another day.

That is all the results I have from this past weekend.

Now, as promised, here are some of my ideas on ways to help book a successful wrestling show. Now again, I know I am not a promoter or wrestler and never have been or ever will be. I am also fully aware there is a lot more to this, these are just some of my thoughts on the process of booking a show. I have seen a lot of shows over the years, and these are a combination of what works at these shows. This is for entertainment purposes only; I am in no way trying to council anyone on how to run a show.. So with that in mind, here they are:

1) Have your show on Friday night. There are very few federations that actually run on Friday. When they do, they are highly successful. EWF has shows every Saturday, and do really well. But it seems to me that they have larger crowds when they run on Friday. Same thing with WCWO, their Friday shows are huge successes. Since no one else is running, you have tons of workers wanting to be on your show. People get off work and want to unwind after a busy week, they can go to wrestling on Friday, and then have the weekend to do other things, or even go to another show on Saturday, and then some weeks, Sunday also. You will never be in conflict with someone else’s show.

2) Have 7 matches on your card. 2 tag team, 4 singles, and 1 specialty match like a battle royal, 3 way dance or 4 way elimination match. Always have a strong main event and then a secondary strong match. Always put the main event last (obviously), and put the secondary strong match at match #4, right before the intermission. If you have a battle royal, make it last longer than 3 minutes, and don’t have it end so abruptly. I have seen battle royals go for 5 minutes, and then all of a sudden, bodies start flying out of the ring like it exploded, and poof, the winner is declared. This is so unrealistic, several people are fighting each other, it needs to be realistic. Never put a title on the line in a three way or four way match. Championships should be determined 1 on 1 or team on team. Also, I feel that the champion is just that, the top wrestler in your federation. Show some respect for that belt and don’t be passing it around like it has a fungus on it. Let the champ hold the belt for a while. I feel that it cheapens the belt when on a show you crown a new champ, two shows later, you crown someone else, then some one else, and by the end of the year, you have ran 12 shows and had 5 champions. The champion is the guy that is the best, so have him look the best by having him hold onto that belt for awhile. I also feel that every singles match that the champion is in, the belt is on the line. I don’t believe in “non title matches”. The champ needs to take on everyone, and defend his belt against whoever he faces.

3) Advertise your show, and not just by word of mouth. You can make a quality flyer and get tons of them made at a printing place for $50. Then what you do is go to every bar and liquor store in town and surrounding areas and post your flyers there. They will be seen. Then with the rest, round up 4 or 5 high school students with a driver’s license and a car, hand them several flyers and a few ticket to the show, and have them post them wherever they can get them. Make sure you have at least one female doing this, because then you can get them posted in both locker rooms of the local schools. That way, when they guys see the poster, they will want to go see wrestling. When the girls see the poster, they will want to go see wrestlers. So it would be beneficial to have a great looking wresters that will be working the show pictured on the flyer. Trust me, this works. To prove it, next time you are at a show, look around; you will see two to ten teenage girls sitting in a group. They are there to see the wrestlers. Then during intermission, when the workers come out to sign autographs and such, you will see these girls hanging around the ring.

4) Put your newest workers to the sport in the first match or the 3 way dance. Your first match should always be the weakest match of the night. You don’t want it to overshadow any other match on the show. Then put your second weakest match at match #5, right after intermission. That way, you can build on both parts of the show. Start out slow with match #1, have it progressively get better and better. By match #4, your secondary strong match, the crowd is really into what is going on. Then go to intermission to give them a break, and start the process over again when they return. By the end of the main event, they are so wound up; they just can’t wait for your next show.

5) Never run a marathon show, and put a lot of stuff onto the fans. 2 ½ hours is a decent amount of time to attend a wrestling event. Anything longer bores the fans. If you start your show at 7:30, then it would be done by 10:00. That is sufficient amount of time. Then on the other hand, don’t rush your show. One time I attended a show that took me over an hour to get there. Bell time was suppose to be 7, but didn’t happen until 7:20. They have 3 quick matches, and then it was intermission, at 7:40. We got back in our seats at 7:55, two more quick matches, and by 8:15, the show was over. So this promoter’s show took just one hour to complete. Needless to say, I had words with the guy about this, and didn’t go back for over a year.

Well, that is about all I have for now, since time is running out. Again, I hope I didn’t bore anyone with this. Just some things I have gathered over the years that seem to work.

Don’t forget that Coliseum Championship Wresting has their weekly show on Wednesday night down at the Memorial Coliseum in Evansville Indiana. The building is located at 300 Court St., bell time is 8:00PM Central Time, and tickets are $10.

Also Ohio Valley Wrestling is having a show Charleston, Indiana this Friday at the Charleston Civic Center, located at 150 Steve Hamilton Dr, Bell Time is 7:30, and tickets are just $5.00

And that is all I have for shows for this w/e. Now, a little commentary on my part. Bigfreaky asked my opinion on how I feel about promoters booking and then canceling shows. Now before I begin, let it be known that I am fully aware that I am NOT a wrestling promoter or wrestler, and never have been. These are just my ideas, as I see it from attending all the events that I have over the years. So here we go:

I feel that promoters need to be professional when it comes to booking and advertising shows. I feel that promoters need to learn from their mistakes, and make changes where needed. They need to do their homework, to make sure that everything will work out the way it needs to, BEFORE they announce a show. If something comes up and a show must be canceled, fine, it happens. But don’t make a habit of booking shows and then canceling them because something always came up. I feel that 2 strikes and your out is the rule of thumb. If you are relying on gate receipts to fund your event, then you need to forget the event altogether. You also need to check out every avenue to make sure that the date you wish to book the show is going to work out. Make sure there are sporting events, concerts, the Super Bowl, World Series, or a major holiday, just to name a few, that will prevent or keep people from attending you show. You should also make sure that another promoter is not running a show within 50 miles or so from you. Have respect for the other promoters, because face it, you are all in this together. Have the money up front to pay for everything, Building, workers, ect. Then the revenue you make off the event is a bonus. Yes, you could loose your shirt, but that is the price to pay. Advertise your event, well in advance. Pay your workers. Have your ducks in a row before you advertise that event. Don’t screw the fans. A lot of fans look forward to wrestling events weeks before they happen. Don’t let the fans down because you, the promoter screwed up.

Then I was asked about “green wrestlers”. I have a lot of respect for all wresters, as long as they got the heart to do what they are doing, and work their butts off to master their craft. Every wrestler that ever stepped into the squared circle was green at on time. Mistakes will be made, and that is why practice is necessary. But even the veterans make mistakes from time to time. That is not a reason to dog and belittle them for it, it happens. Now back to training, I not just talking practicing in a training facility with your trainer and training buddies. That is beneficial, but being in front of a live crowd is a whole new ball game. Rookies need to get as much ring time as they can. Get booked on as many shows as you can. Get the practice you need in front of a crowd, and you will improve. You need to get the feel of a live crowd, and the environment in which you are working. I have attended wrestling events all over the state. Wrestling Fans are different from town to town, promotion to promotion, venue to venue. You need to adapt to all these environments. Also, wrestling rings are different from promoter to promoter. They may be softer, harder, bigger, smaller, have loose ropes, have really tight ropes. So as you can tell, you need to experience different situations, and know how to adapt accordingly. Also, you need to dress like a wrestler. This is a job, and your wrestling gear is your uniform. I think it weakens the quality of the show when wrestlers are allowed to wrestle in cut off jeans and tennis shoes. Have pride in what you do. Now as I have said before, I am no promoter or wrestler and never have been. These are strictly my ideas, and I may be way off base, but this is the way I see it. I also hope that I didn’t bore any of you and that you knew where I was coming from, and that I just wasn’t out in left field rambling on about nothing.

Now I should be back on Monday, February 25th with the results from these shows. I should have time, and I would like to pass along my ideas for putting together a quality wrestling show at that time as well.

Newest Member reveled as "The Uprising" attack "The Beast" Brian Roberts

Sunday night, February 15th, as the Co-Owner of the newly formed BMF Wrestling Alliance: "The Beast" Brian Roberts was getting the last minute touches put together before the show started, Jeremy "Warfare" Hadley & Luis Rojas, better known as "The Uprising" came out of nowhere and attacked him. As ring announcer Diamond Dan was calling for security to come and break up the fight, "The Uprising" force "The Beast" into the ring.

"The Beast" finally gets the upper hand, and as he pounds on Luis Rojas, (shown here), Jeremy Hadley leaves the ring, and his partner.
But where did Hadley go? Did he leave his partner to dodge the wrath of the angry "Beast".
NO, he went and got the newest member of "The Uprising", "The Venom" Matt Valor. Valor hits Roberts so hard in the back of the head with a running forearm, that Valor almost runs right thru the ropes on the other side of the ring. (center photo). As "The Uprising" choke out Roberts with a chair, Kenneth James and Justin Frost make the save. "The Beast" then announces that later in the night, Jeremy Hadley and Luis Rojas WOULD face Kenneth James and Justin Frost.

Here are photos of the match that took place in Lafayette, Indiana on February 17th, 2008 at the BMF Wrestling Alliance Show. The match is between Jeremy "Warfare" Hadley and Luis Rojas against Justin Frost and Kenneth James. The match is a result of the attack on "The Beast" Brian Roberts at the hands of "The Uprising":
Here we see Kenneth James and Luis Rojas blocking each other's punches as their tag partners look on.
Jeremy Hadley comes down on Justin Frost as his partner, Luis Rojas holds him in place. Jeremy Hadley is choking Justin Frost on the ropes with his knee as Referee Greg Lake is trying to get the hold broken.

The third and newest member of "The Uprising", "The Venom" Matt Valor runs in to save his partners from tapping out to Kenneth James and Justin Frost. James and Frost win the match via DQ. After the match, Valor, Hadley, and Rojas continue to beat up on James and Frost, until "The Beast" Brian Roberts enters the ring with a sledge hammer and runs them off.

Justin Frost, Brian Roberts, & Kenneth James are wound up knowing that next month, they will get of face all three members of "The Uprising". That match will take place on Sunday, March 16th at Reihle Bros. (2270 Concord Rd., Lafayette, IN).

Indy Wrestle Line Option #2 (2-15-2008) Report

Hello wrestling fans and thanks for calling option #2 of the Indy Wrestle Line. I am your host, the returning Indiana Pro Wrestling Reporter Marcus A. Fine.

Now before I begin my report, I would first like to thank Adam for allowing me to come back to the Indy Wrestle Line, and also to Randy, Robert, Rodney, and Greg for sharing their airtime with me.

Now callers, things are going to be a little different than what you are use to or what I have done in the past. What Randy did on this option was outstanding work. He not only covered Indiana, but the surrounding states. Since I am only familiar with Indiana Wrestling, that is all that I will be covering, unless I have a wrestler, promoter, or caller from a neighboring state that wishes that I promote a show. So with that in mind, off to this weeks scheduled wrestling events:

Frist off, the NEW FOCUS WRESTLING show that was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15th at the CK Newsome Center in Evansville has been cancelled due to all the bad weather.

Now the NATIONAL WRESTLING COALITION has a show at the Community Center in Fairbanks, Indiana on Sat. Feb. 15th with a 7:30pm belltime. Scheduled to appear: NWC heavyweight champion Brandon Walker, Sean Chambers, Homicidal Steven Davis, Vulcan, Cousin Leroy, Edmund "Livewire" McGuire, Aaron "Hollister" Holly, NNWC cruiserweight champion Curt Braddock, JP Lightning, JC Blade, and Brooklyn Bob.

Okay, next we have FIRE PRO WRESTLING which is having a show at the Impact Christian Church in Merrillville, IN. On this show will be former WWE Superstar and the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man. I would like to thank Louis Linaris for this information.

Then down in Madison Indiana, SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING has a show at 821 W. Main with a 7:30 belltime. One match already signed, you will see “Custom Made” Nic Noble take on “The Super Beast” Rob Royale in a Lumberjack Strap Match, which should be both interesting, and entertaining to watch.

Then we head up to Marion Indiana to the EXTREME WRESTLING FEDERATION has a huge show scheduled for this Saturday at the EWF Arena, located at 3400 S. Adams St. Now at the EWF Arena this week, you will see, former WWE Star Zach Gowen taking on “The Real Deal” Bob, for the New Era Title, Just Justin will be defending his belt against Jimmy Jacobs, plus you also see in action, Tag Champions Hillbilly Jedd & Joey Owens, Midwestern Champion Dark Lion, Nate Phoenix, Dylan Bostic, Jake Omen, Scotty Young, Gavin Starr, Keith Creme, Andy Santos, Charles Jackson, Senior Flamer, & Mike King w/ Party Boy. Tickets for this event are $12 VIP Ringside and $10 GA. Bell time will be 7:30

Then we head down to Greensburg as WILD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING OUTLAWS is back in action this Saturday at the Parks Center, which is located on the corner of Lincoln and North St. Their belltime is 7:00pm. All your WCWO stars will be in action.

Then last but not least, on Sunday, the BMF Wrestling Alliance is back in action up in Lafayette at Riehle Bros. on that patio, located at 2270 Concord Road with a 6:00PM Bell Time. AAPW Results-2/9-Mt Vernon, Illinois

AAPW debuted in Mt. Vernon, IL. at the YMCA. 98 screaming fans were treated to a night of terrific action and family entertainment.

The opening bout featured two AAPW fan favorites. Mike Masters faced Edmund "Livewire" McGuire in what started out as a fantastic show of skill and sportsmanship. As the match progressed, Masters seemed to get frustrated not only with McGuire but with the fans. It appears the fans in Mt. Vernon favor McGuire over Masters. As McGuire set Masters up for a top rope leg drop, Brandon Walker ran to ringside and pushed McGuire off the top turnbuckle. Masters took advantage and hit McGuire with a Death Valley Driver to get the win. Fans were not impressed with Masters.

The 2nd match of the evening featured two rookies. Cody Ray Strong was "Strong" in his debut defeating Davey Boy Sloan.

Match number 3 featured the debut of Mark Sterling and Darrien Sanders squaring off against the 1 contender for the AAPW Heavyweight title, "Da Bomb" Brian James and his partner, newcomer Thee Brandon Espinosa. All four displayed great athleticism and technical skill despite a few underhanded tactics and complaining by Sanders and Sterling. James and Espinosa pulled out the victory.

Ax Stevens continued his path of destruction. J.C. Blade fell victim to the piledriver after a brief onslaught of offense. Blades quickness was no match for the experience of "The Old School Warrior".

The Mississippi Madman was back in action at AAPW and the fans literally blew the roof off the place! From the time Madman entered the ring until the final bell, the noise from the fans was deafening. Madman's opponent was Carnage. The strength and power of the 250 lb. masked man was of no use against the 450 lb Madman. Carnage turned to every dirty trick in the book; choking, raking the eyes and flat out pounding on the Madman. In the end, Madman took Carnage to "The 5th Floor" deliviering the thunderous chokeslam for the win.

"Thunderbolt" Brandon Walker faced "The All American" J.T. Calhoun. Edmund "Livewire" McGuire decided to get some payback on Walker by heading to ringside distracting Walker in order for Calhoun to secure a victory.

The main event of the evening was a last chance for "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich to take the AAPW title from "Homicidal" Steven Davis. These two put on a match that featured everything! Brawling, technical wrestling, high flying, and action out of the ring into the front row! Finally, after 6 months of chasing the title, "Serial Thriller" forced Davis to tap out to a Texas Cloverleaf and is THE NEW AAPW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!

Brian James is scheduled to face the winner on March 15th in Carbondale, IL. However, Davis invoked a rematch clause and demanded he gets it in Carbondale on March 15th. Therefore, Rich's 1st title defense will be in a TRIPLE THREAT MATCH agaisnst both Davis and Brian James!

A valiant effort by Ames and Able but they were defeated after Brandon Blaze interference and a low blow by Corbin. Post match the Phoenix Twins jumped the champs and a pull apart brawl ensued.

*Promo from Jayson Reign in front of the exit sign backstage. He said it was never about him, it was always about the company and the fans. He said he was so proud of how far AAW has come and thanked the fans one last time.

*Kevin Harvey interviewed Eric Priest in the ring about his Dog Collar match later in the night. Chandler McClure came to ringside in his wheelchair promising a "miracle". He then rolled into the ring and sat back down in his chair. Priest doubted Chandler's injuries and said he let him off the hook when he interrupted him last month but not tonight. Priest nailed McClure and knocked him off his wheelchair and then continued to beat on him. Priest then proclaimed "It's a miracle!"

Josh Abercrombie d. "Amazing N8 Mattson w/ Truth Martini

Truth is suffering from last months neck injury so he will now be in the corner of Mattson. After a competitive match Abercrombie got the win with a lungblower.

* Valerie Malone came to the ring and informed the fans she now has her managers license and was bringing back a man the built the foundation of AAW...... JASON DUKES. The fans were all over Dukes as he laid out an open challenge to anyone in the back. The challenge was answered by none other than...... SILAS YOUNG! Young shocked everyone and said since he was hanging out in the back and loved wrestling and making money he wanted to take on Dukes.

Silas Young d. Jason Dukes w/ Valerie Malone

Dukes actually looked to be in the best shape of his career here but after a hard fought match Silas put away his old rival with a headstand moonsault. Post match Silas got revenge on Malone and laid her out with a spinebuster.

Jimmy Jacobs w/ Lacey d. Eric Priest in a Dog Collar Match to become the NEW AAW HERITAGE CHAMPION

Before the match Jacobs introduced Lacey who would now be in his corner. This was a bloody and brutal match that saw Jacobs tie Priest to the turnbuckles with both chains and unleash a half dozen chair shots on the champ. After Priest was able to somehow kick out, Chandler McClure hit the ring and attacked Priest leading to a Jacobs top rope senton for the win and the Heritage Title.

*Backstage promo from Tyler Black, Shane Hollister and Mdogg 20. They were fired up for the main event against JJ Inc.

Dan Lawrence d. Derek St. Holmes w/ Koa Marie, Knight Wagner and Hunter Matthews.

Interference from Koa Marie backfired and Lawrence was able to get the win. After the match he called out Ryan Boz. Boz and Jacobs came out but were greeted by Skullkrusher leading to....

Ryan Boz d. "Skullkrusher" Rasche Brown

Jacobs came out and nailed Rasche in his right eye with a spike. Boz then finished him with a lariat. Rasche needed to be helped from the ring.

* Backstage Derek St. Holmes yelled at Hybrid and Brooks for losing earlier and not helping him in his match. He told them it was time for them to "go on time out."

Zach Gowen / Krotch w/ Nikki d. Trik Davis / CK3 w/ Dave Prazak

Trik had Krotch beat but CK3 tagged in. After a brawl between Nikki and Dave Prazak Gowen was able to hit a moonsault on CK3 for the win.

* Promo from JJ Inc. Daniels said they were ready to go to war in the main event.

Austin Aries d. Arik Cannon via KO to earn a spot in the 3/8 Final Four

A hard hitting match that saw Aries victorious after a brainbuster/ submission combo that left Cannon unconscious. Aries moves on to the final four next month.

Tyler Black/Shane Hollister/Mdogg20 d. Jerry Lynn/Danny Daniels/Marek Brave

An action packed match. Too much to recap here. JJ Inc was in control when Bryce Benjamin hit the ring and took out Danny Daniels. The fight spilled into the crowd when Mdogg 20 flew from the top rope to the outside leaving Tyler Black in the ring with the Heavyweight champ. Black hit the small package driver and pinned Jerry Lynn! Black and co. celebrated as the champ laid in the ring to end the show.

Chuck Taylor won the Aerial Assault Match defeating Spyrul BKNY, Pinkie Sanchez, Ryan McBride, and Ricochet.

The match was spectacular with the high spots the match is designed to show off, including Ricochet doing the double moonsault (that means a moonsault with two complete flips, folks) to the floor, which is a incredible thing to see live; as well as Ryan McBride doing a 450 off of through a table on the outside. Chuck Taylor even busted out a ring dive.

The match was hurt by what appeared to be a botched finish (by either the referee or BKNY Spyral); which ended up with Chuck Taylor and BKNY Spyrul on a ladder to get a "contract" for a future CZW Junior Heavyweight Title match. BKNY Spyrul hung from the chain attached to the raefters holding the "contract". He then kicked Taylor, grabbed the contract and fell...but without the contract. Chuck Taylor grabbed it to win the match. Then, while Taylor climbed down, BKNY Spyrul grabbed it, and was announced the winner. Zandig came out, spit on Spyral, and gives the contract to Taylor.

Oops.

Then, the filming started with two 2 takes of Necro Butcher (as the dastardly heel named "Necrobutcher") and Mickey Rourke (as the babyface character "Ram") entrances, then saw a bar fight sequence between the two taped for the movie. OK so far with the taping.

Team Andrew beat the Iron Saints in an OK match.

Nicky Benz brought out Javi Air to start a stable of wrestlers he was going to make "stars". Yawn.

Javi Air loses to LJ Cruz in a forgettable match. More coaching needed by Benz apparently.

Greg Excellence and Beef Wellington (aka " 2Girls1Cup"), along with Kylie Pierce as their "nutritional coach", defeated Joe Gacy and Alex Colon.

Sabian beat Brandon Thomaselli with a double footstomp to retain the CZW Junior Heavyweight Titlet.

DJ Hyde beat WHACKS in an hardcore all-Arena brawl. DJ Hyde started the evening's events by tying Britney (WHACKS girlfriend/valet) to the ringpost, bringing various inappropriate comments from my section. WHACKS began the match comes out and attacks DJ Hyde with a barbed wire bat. WHACKS tried to untie Britney only to be stopped by DJ Hyde.

In a disgusting moment, the carved up DJ Hyde got lemon juice and salt poured into his barbed wire cuts. Later, WHACKS spit out hot sauce onto the cuts. Owwwwwch.

Then, another "oops" moment occurred as WHACKS tried to use a mobile cherry picker to squash DJ Hyde against the guardrail. Only it wouldn't start moving. Security finally came along and got it going for WHACKS, who squashed Hyde against the rail. In the middle of all the fun, WHACKS eventually frees Britney. WHACKS attempts to finish off DJ Hyde by jumping off the mobile cherry picker, but Hyde moved. Hyde then pinned WHACKS for the win.

Naptown Dragons (Scotty Vortekz and Diehard Dustin Lee) defeated Jon Dahmer and Danny Demanto to win the CZW Tag Team Titles. Dragons turned into defacto babyfaces (think "cool heels"), as a lot of fans are tired of Demanto's ring-shooty shtick.

During intermission; more footage was filmed, including a segment with a brawl in the crowd between "Ram" and "Necrobutcher".

Post-intermission, Vordell Walker came out. He tried to tell us Joker (who came out with Blackout earlier) was at home with an abscessed tooth (turns out he DID have an abscessed tooth, but was very obviously there in the building. This qualifies as another of those "thank God for editing" moments.

So Walker did the "I'm looking for the toughest guy in the locker room" shtick....only to have Kevin Steen return to CZW to a nice ovation.

Kevin Steen-Vordell Walker went to a no-contest as Steen went for the package piledriver, but was reversed by Walker into a leglock. Steen makes the ropes, Walker refused to break, and the match was called a "no-contest" (um, isn't this usually considered a DQ for the guy refusing to break?). Joker came out and challenged Walker for next month.

LuFisto beats Sexxy Eddy in the Ultraviolent Domestic Dispute match. No gimmicks used, but Eddy beat the CRAP out of
LuFisto (who's got to be the toughest North American woman not named Mickie Knuckles). LuFisto wins on a reverse pin.

Hardcore Nick Gage and Ruckus went to a non-finish after Drew Blood and Devon Moore of PWU came out (in what appears to be the slowest "invasion" by one promotion of another I've ever seen). Gage and Ruckus go to resume the match, but are broken up after Robby Mireno tells security something. The crowd shit on the second non-finish out of three matches. Zandig came out and tried to re-start the match, but Ruckus left a minute later. It should be noted that Ruckus got out of a hospital bed after being in the hospital with a bad case of pneumoina, something that escaped the crowd who hooted the non-finish.

Drake Younger defeated Brain Damage in a bloody disgusting match that featured barbed wire, auto glass and other fun things. After one spot, Brain Damage legit sprayed blood like a water faucet (for those who remember, think of the horrific Bill Alfonso blade job back in the ECW days). Drake Younger looked like he got shot after taking a double knee stomp onto a pane of glass. In the middle of the insanity, Younger pinned Brain Damage for the win and the Double Crown (Iron Man Title and "Ultraviolet Underground" title).

Then, there was more movie filming. Zandig kept the crowd around by implying there would be more following this...which there really wasn't. Grrrrrrrr. The crowd started getting pissed at this point as the hour was getting ridiculously late for this kind of thing.

For those who care, Necrobutcher is still out after the filming is done, and "sincerely thanks the one man in the back who made this possible"...Nicky Benz. Thus the Necrobutcher turn begins. Benz comes out with protege, Javi-Air. Yippee.

Danny Havoc came out, called Necrobutcher a Hollywood sellout, and started fighting with Necrobutcher. Wifebeater came out with a weedwhacker to even the sides. It says something that the crowd was so tired at nearly 1:00 am that even Wifebeater didn't get much of a pop.

The evening...er, morning... ends with Havoc hitting a flying elbow off of the ECW Arena entrance onto Necrobutcher on top of two tables.

Hello everyone and welcome to your Indy Wrestle Line Independent report.. I am the Weekend Warrior Randy Klemme.

First of all, I just wanted to add something to the answer I gave to Jeff in Indianapolis concerning a question he had concerning WWE writers belonging to the writers union that is on strike. Nate Stein of prowrestlingpress.com sent me a note and said pro wrestling does not fall under the pervue of the Writer's Guild, but many of them are members. Thanks Nate for your assistance. As to whether what effect if any it will have on the WWE is anybody's guess.

Birthday shoutouts this week go to Ladies indy wrestler Lexi Lane celebrating on Tuesday of this week and Northern Indiana wrestler Big Daddy Dean is having a birthday on Thursday...so happy birthday to both of those guys....

Hello everyone and welcome to your Indy Wrestle Line Independent report.. I am the Weekend Warrior Randy Klemme.

Well it is the first weekend of the month and there are a number of shows all around the midwest, so this weekend would be a great chance to get out and support professional wrestling....

First to Jeff in Indianapolis...you pose an interesting question about the possibility of WWE writers belonging to the union that is on strike. It apparently hasn't had an effect on the WWE. at least not yet. Keep in mind, that members of the creative team are also former wrestlers and may not be members of the union....I believe Dusty Rhodes and Michael Hayes are still on the creative team along with Stephanie McMahon. I haven't seen the latest list of the WWE creative team members, but it would be interesting to find out if any of them are a member of the writers union, maybe someone can fill us in on that.

As I said it is a busy indy wrestling weekend, and no place will be busier than in Indianapolis where Insanity Pro Wrestling will have TWO shows on Saturday at the Fountain Square Salvation Army at 1337 S Shelby Street in Indianapolis. At 3:30 Saturday afternoon, IPW presents their first ever Ladies Only Show. Admission is $10 and $5 for children 10 and under. Amoung the ladies stars you will see will be Helena Heavenly, Nevaeh, Hailey Hatred, Lexie Lane and more. Doors open at 3 and the belltime is at 3:30pm. Then Saturday evening IPW presents Sacrifice. Admission for the second show is $12 and $7 for children 10 and under.Scheduled on card are Osyris, Jon Moxley, Joey Owens, and IPW junior Heavyweight Champion Billy Roc amoung others. Doors open at 6 and belltime is at 7pm for the evening show. You may also purchase tickets for both events at a discount....$19 for adults and $10 for kids 10 and under. Wild Championship Wrestling Outlaws will be returning Saturday night to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Crawfordsville, Indiana with a 7pm belltime. Don Basher, Justin Andrews, Apocalipz, Kennth James and Pogo are all scheduled on that card in Crawfordsville....

Hoosier Pro Wrestling welcomes former NWA World Champion "Wildfire" Tommy Rich, Doug Gilbert and Tank Toland to the HPW Arena Saturday night, Belltime is at 7:45pm on the Bartholemew County Fairgrounds. Also on the card you will see HPW Heavyweight Champion "Diceman" Ronnie Vegas, HPW Hardcore Champion Ox Harley and HPW Cruiserweight Champion Donny Idol. Again belltime is at 7:45 Saturday night in Columbus, Indiana

Other shows will take place in Marion, Indiana with Extreme Wrestling Federation with a 7pm belltime at the EWF Arena, 3400 S Adams Street in Marion, Indiana....

Supreme Championship Wrestling will have their weekly show at 821 W Main Street in Madison, Indiana with a 7:30pm belltime Saturday night...

There was a Royal Rumble for the Vacant MWA Tag Team Titles with the winner picking his partner. Last two were Bobby Blade & Bobby Green, BUT before the Royal Rumble ended, both dressing rooms emptied back into the ring. Referee threw the contest out - No Winner.

Well hopefully everyone got out to a nearby independent wrestling show in your area this weekend....

Let's give some shoutouts to some of my weekend warrior junkies in my hood....

to Bobby in Chicago we say hello and wish you good luck in getting in shape. I understand he has been doing a lot of running these days...

To Big Jim in Western Maryland, Luther Reigns was Horseshu in WCW as he was a graduate of the WCW Power Plant...

To Michael C Rogers in New Albany, Indiana, the lead in song on the hotline is "Long White Cadillac" by Dwight Yoakam..

To Johnny Black, the last I have heard The Black Widow and Angelfire are both out of wrestling and enjoying peronal life. I have been trying to get ahold of both to get a further update but have not located them...

and to the Dirty Squirrel, the Weekend Warrior has promoted wrestling shows under the name of Eastern Indiana Pro Wrestling in the past and you never know when that will happen again. I can say that I have wrestled, promoted and was the lead announcer for several months for WCWO and RWF when they were on channel 4 in Indianapolis a few years back. As to what is next? I guess stay tuned and find out...

There are a few NEW wrestling organizations set to start running shows in the immediate Indianapolis vicinity early this year.

Circle City Wrestling was to be the first with a show this weekend, however due to heating problems at the Circle City Flea Market where the show was going to happen, that show has been moved to a future date. Circle City Wrestling was a very popular organization in Indianapolis a number of years ago and is being re-incarnated this year.

Next will be WWA-Glow wrestling. Their debut show is set for Tuesday, March 11th at Stable's in Indianapolis. The night will feature some great ladies wrestling, plus the small guys will be on the card as well. Lady Victoria, Hailey Hatred, Nevaeh, Lexie Lane are all scheduled on this card along with P.O.D. Advance tickets are $12 and are available at Stable's....Tickets at the door will be $15 the night of the show...

On Saturday March 29th, WWA-Indianapolis will debut at Valley Mills Christian Church's Gymnasium located at 5555 S. Kentucky avenue 1/2 mile south of Decatur Central High School. Some of the best indy wrestlers around the midwest are scheduled on this show that is a fundraiser for the Riley Hospital PMD Foundation.

Then on April 19th, X-treme Limit Wrestling will debut in the Turner Building at Germany Park on the southside of Indianapolis. Scheduled on that card are The Naptown Dragons, the Soul Shooters, American History Next, Cody Hawk, Tony Rican, American Kickboxer and many others.

So as you can see, there will be even more wrestling in 2008 in the Indianapolis area....

Birthdays for this week include Ladies indy star Nevaeh celebrating this Tuesday and Sexy Sean Casey will be having a birthday on Friday this week...

Recently I had a question sent by e-mail from Eddie Runyon wanting to know if CoCo Warrior was still wrestling in eastern Kentucky. I have received a note from Eddie Turner who says Coco is now going by the name of Underminer and is still wrestling in Kentucky.

Jim in Western Maryland called and wanted to know who the Blackhearts were in the UWF shows on ESPN Classic right now. The Blackhearts, were David Heath, who eventually became Gangrel and Tom Nash. The two were Apocalypz and Destruction as the Blackhearts managed by Luna Vachon. The UWF ceased operation in 1996 with the death of Herb Abrams. You can catch an hour of UWF action Monday through Friday at 1am on ESPN Classic.

Hopefully everyone had a chance to catch the debut of NWA Showcase on Colours TV earlier this week. The show was a little rough, but for the first show it was ok. The announcing was not the greatest, BUT the wrestling was ok. I am just surprised for being the debut show they didn't come out of the gate with a match involving the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pierce, but instead chose two newer wrestlers. I am sure the NWA will continue to work on the TV program to make it better in the coming weeks.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Indiana Indy referee David Lee celebrating today on this Sunday....Mexican wrestler Super Porky celebrates on Monday and a special happy birthday to someone that helps me here with results on the reports, Big Lee Richardson celebrates on Wednesday this week....

Let me first answer a couple of questions that have been called in on the hotline.....Well, Dirty Squirrel, maybe you know something that I haven't been able to find out....but as far as I can tell the first professional wrestling match using ring ropes was in the early 1900s, possibly around 1910 but I am not sure who was involved in it or how the ring ropes came to be.

To Big Jim in Western Maryland, I have looked for the organization that was mentioned this week on the Jerry Springer Show and haven't found the woman that was on the show. Sometimes you have to wonder about the guests on that show as to whether they are real or not and yes I am a Springer fan too. I do know of several professional wrestlers that have been on that show in fake storylines, so it is hard telling if that woman was really a Rampage wrestling champion or not.

and to Eddie Runyon who sent in his question by e-mail, I have not heard of CoCo Warrior in Eastern Kentucky, however maybe someone checking out this report has heard of him and can give us some more information.

Micro Wrestling will be invading RAW this Monday night in Mobile, Alabama. So plan to check them out.

There has been alot of discussion in recent weeks on various message boards in regards to Ric Flair and his final matches in professional wrestling before he retires. Many were hoping that Sting was going to make a jump this year to the WWE and could be a final opponent for Flair....some have even mentioned the name of Ricky Steamboat as a good opponent, however I am not sure Steamboat would be able to work a match like the great shows him and Flair had several years ago in WCW. This week, I sent a message to the ORIGINAL wrestling diva.....BabyDoll, Nikla Roberts who was the valet for the 4-Horsemen to see if the WWE had ever contacted her about a Horsemen reunion as a possible storyline for Flair's retirement. She told me that she has not heard anything from the WWE at all. She added that Tully Blanchard is heavily involved with Bill Glass Ministries and is not doing anything wrestling right now. It should be noted that Ole Anderson is in poor health with multiple sclerosis. Arn Anderson and Barry Windham are already working for the WWE as road agents so it is not something difficult to put together. BabyDoll suggested that all fans of the 4-Horsemen to post the suggestion of a reunion on message boards everywhere and also contact the WWE with the suggestion.

There were a couple of wrestling seminars prior to shows this past weekend, and I understand both went well. Mike Quackenbush did a seminar prior to the Insanity Pro Show in Indianapolis and The Sandman did one before the EWF show in Marion, Indiana. Both had a number of wrestlers attending and it should be mentioned that The Sandman worked very well with the owners of EWF, unlike Roddy Piper a couple of months ago...

First off I wanna take a moment to thank everyone that has called and left messages this past week while I have been a little under the weather...in particular Robert Rush, Tim in Ohio, Mike Murray, the Mars Hill Drunk, the Dirty Squirrel, and Rob in Indianapolis. I always appreciate the comments and questions and yes even the entertainment with the messages you all leave. To Max in Fortville, I do not understand your question that you left, if you could call back and explain I would appreciate it.

I had a few calls this week wanting to know where my friend the Metal Master is these days since he hasn't been seen wrestling in the midwest. I checked and Metal Master is currently on a tour of Europe and to be exact is wrestling in France this week and will be in the UK through the end of next month. Hopefully we can get an update on Metal Master as to how he is doing over there for an upcoming report...

If you are a fan of wrestling on television, you are in luck with two announcements made this week. ESPN Classics will begin airing old shows from Herb Abram's UWF from the 90s. The shows will begin airing on Tuesday, January 8th at 1am. Also this week, the National Wrestling Alliance will begin airing NWA Showcase on Colours TV on Wednesday, January 16th at 9pm on Colours TV channel 9407 on Dish Network. Now true wrestling fans will have a chance to watch wrestling on TV nearly every day of the week...

An update on Lex Luger....Luger is currently staying at the Spinal Rehabilitation Center in Marietta, Georgia. He is still paralyzed in both arms and both legs, but has begun to get feeling back in all four extremities. The official diagnosis was that he suffered a spinal stroke. He collapsed in a hotel room on Friday, October 19, when he was in San Francisco for a wrestling convention.

Well as you can tell by my voice, I rang in the new year still under the weather, but I did want to get on here and wish everyone a very safe and prosperous new year...

On the last report I asked about the big newsmakers in professional wrestling in 2007 and of course, the Benoit tragedy topped that list. Also mentioned was the WWE Raw 15th Anniversary celebration several times. Thanks to all who called and left messages...

Last Saturday we reported that the EWF in Marion, Imdiana crowned a new heavyweight champion, however an announcement made this week by the owners of EWF, state that Big Ric Cannon will now be awarded the victory and his title belt will be returned to him. According to the release, after viewing the videotape of the end of the match, owners determined that Cannon's feet touched the floor first in his cage match with Osyris, therefore continues to be the company champion.

This weekend the EWF welcomes former ECW/WCW/WWE Legend The Sandman to the EWF Arena. For more information you can go to their website at ewfarena.com. BUT you can also check out option number 3 right now as Robert Rush has the Sandman on the HotSeat. That's option number 3 of the Indy Wrestle Line.

EWF Title Change overturned

1/1/08 - BREAKING NEWS: CAGE MATCH DECISION OVERTURNED

After reading over the contract drawn up by Commissioner Tony Angelo for the EWF Heavyweight title match at "EWF Seasons Beatings" which was signed by both Ric Cannon & Osyris, it has been noted that the stipulation for the match as worded in the contract clearly states "the winner will be the first wrestler outside the ring with both feet firmly on the floor..."
The contract did not stipulate the wrestler's body needed to be completely OUTSIDE OF THE CAGE. After carefully reviewing the videotape of last Saturday' cage match, it is clear that Ric Cannon's feet indeed touched the floor first. Therefore, the referee's decision has been overturned and Big Ric Cannon is still the reigning EWF Champion.

The match technically ended when Osyris speared Cannon causing Cannon's feet to hit the floor outside the cage.

Well if you are calling the hotline report, you can tell I am a little under the weather, so this report will be quite short..

To answer a couple of caller's questions, the person that was referred to in one of the calls does not have a hotline currently in the Indianapolis area....and as for what I thought was the top news maker of 2007 in the world of professional wrestling was, hands down would have to be the Chris Benoit tragedy in Georgia. Well this continues to be a very slow week on the independent wrestling scene around the midwest. I do want to thank all of you that called with holiday wishes on the hotline and through e-mail. Some of those included the Dirty Squirrel, Brad Dykens, Johnny Black among others. I hope everyone continues to have a safe holiday week...

To Big Jim in Maryland, those I have been in contact with the NWA hoped the new show on Colours TV would be on the air by the end of December, but it appears that is not going to happren. According to the Colours TV website the NWA will debut in January sometime. I have been promised to be notified when the show will start so I can pass it along.

I have decided to withhold more information on the show in Connersville, Indiana last weekend. I am getting conflicting stories from both sides of the situation, so I will refrain in alot of the details of what supposedly happened, however I will say that the show did start over an hour late due to problems with the wrestling card which should never happen at a professionally run show. It sounds like there was alot of miscommunication. and to Rob, I do not make it a practice to call another hotline to get show results. I appreciate you letting me know about the results for this show, however, the majority of wrestling companies and also wrestlers on those cards send me the results direct if they want some promotion. This group has been asked to send their show information and results to us, but refuse to do so. Those wanting publicity for their organization and wrestlers can send the info anytime directly to me at the e-mail address I will have in a moment.

There are a few shows this weekend around the area, including New Focus Wrestling at the C.K.Newsome Center in Evansville Saturday night. One of the big matches of the night will be a Loser Leaves NFW Cage Match between T-Bolt Baxton and Timber.....Bo Bo Brazil, Jr meets Master Rich in a 30-minute Iron Man cage match...plus a number of other matches. Belltime is at 7pm Saturday night in Evansville.

Other shows Saturday night will occur at the EWF Arena, 3400 S Adams Street in Marion, Indiana with a 7:30pm belltime.....Supreme Championship Wrestling will be in action at 821 West Main in Madison, Indiana with a 7:30 belltime....Mountain Wrestling Association will be at the Estill Street Jubilee in Mt Sterling, Kentucky starting at 7:30pm....and the Northern Wrestling Federation will be at the UAW Union Hall in Fairfield, Ohio starting at 8pm Saturday night. On Sunday, Derby City Wrestling will be at the National Guard Armory in Seymour, Indiana with a 7pm belltime.

and don't forget the WCWO New Year's Eve bash this coming Monday night at the Grassy Creek Apartment Gymnasium just off of West Washington Street on the westisde of Indianapolis. Belltime is at 7:30pm with a New Year's Party to follow....

There is really not alot to report on today's update in the way of news. Don't forget tickets are still available for WCWO's New Years Eve bash at Grassy Creek Apartments on the westside of Indianapolis. Call 317-308-6556 to make reservations. Wrestling starts at 7:30 with a party to follow. Tickets are $10 and seating is very limited....

I understand from a caller that there were some problems at the show in Connersville, Indiana Saturday night. I did not attend due to personal reasons, but I am trying to get the other side of the situation before going into details, but it appears that some guys should not be promoting shows or involved in so-called training potential professional wrestlers when he has never been trained himself. More later this week.

SHIMMER TITLE TOURNEY DVDS NOW AVAILABLE!

In November of 2005, eighteen women gathered in suburban Chicago to be a part of the inaugural SHIMMER Women Athletes DVD taping. The event was in many ways an experiment to see if a U.S. based women's pro wrestling product which put the focus on athleticism and wrestling skill could be accepted by wrestling fans, and develop a following. SHIMMER Volume 1 surprised many when it became a hot seller very quickly at ROHwrestling.com, proving that there is indeed an audience for a serious women's wrestling DVD product.

As SHIMMER built its fan following during the months that followed that first taping, several further editions of the DVD series were filmed, featuring many of the top female stars from around the world, including Ireland's Rebecca Knox, the UK's Nikita, Nattie Neidhart from Calgary, and LuFisto from Montreal. SHIMMER introduced Amazing Kong to the American wrestling scene on Volume 5, after she first honed her skills and built her reputation in Japan. During the time period between Volumes 1 and 10, many of SHIMMER's women athletes moved on in their careers, and new faces were thrown into the mix to take those roster spots. Through the DVD series, fans were able to familiarize themselves with just who each of these female competitors are, and what they are capable of in the ring. Having established a core of athletes through the first ten DVD releases, SHIMMER was ready to take the next logical step... crowning a SHIMMER Champion.

Over the course of two nights in Berwyn, IL, sixteen women participated in a single elimination tournament to determine just who would be the first athlete to wear SHIMMER gold. Many of the wrestlers who had been in action from the very beginning, such as Cheerleader Melissa, MsChif, Allison Danger, Lexie Fyfe, Sara Del Rey, Ariel, Lacey, Cindy Rogers, Daizee Haze, Nikki Roxx, and Rain were entered into the bracketing. Competitors who made their way to SHIMMER during 2006 and early 2007, such as veteran grappler Malia Hosaka, British star "The Jezebel" Eden Black, and Canada's Portia Perez were also added to the mix. Additionally, newcomers to the SHIMMER ranks like Alicia and CMLL's "Dark Angel" Sarah Stock tried to instantly establish themselves in SHIMMER during their debut weekend with the company by becoming that first SHIMMER Champion.

Now, all of the action as part of the two night, sixteen woman tournament is available on DVD for immediate worldwide shipping from ROHwrestling.com! Volume 11 features all of the matches which took place on the first night, which includes the entire first and second rounds of the tournament. Volume 12 consists of matches which took place during the second night, including the semi-finals and finals of the tournament, as well as several non-tournament matches featuring wrestlers eliminated from tournament action the previous night. These two companion DVD releases total over five and a half hours of action, and feature twenty big matches in all!

The first ten DVD releases in the SHIMMER series demonstrated what each of the members of the SHIMMER roster bring to the table, all in preparation for this tournament to decide just which of the women athletes of SHIMMER is deserving of being recognized as the very best. * Before the show as Michael Flannery was arriving to the building and greetings the who fans were standing in line outside and waiting for the doors to open was attacked by Jason Hades! Hades slammed Flannery's headfirst into the side of the building and began to pummel him! Prince Ali along with DDS and others had to pull Hades off of Flannery!*

*Fusion scored the upset and pinned Derrick St. Holmes with a crucifix pin

*Prince Ali beat Brett Gakiya and will go onto face Dysfunction for the LightWeight and Heritage Titles on December 14th!

* "WaterBoy" Mike Horning pinned ADD with a Tsunami Bomb.

* Hunter Matthews beat Kyle Rich with a piledriver. After the match, CJ Esparza, Marc Matthews, and Hunter Matthews attacked Kyle. XXXPlicit Content stormed the ring to save Rich and challenged Hunter and Esparza to a tag team match later in the night!

* Lacey defeated Mia Martinez by count out. Afterwards ,Mia challenged Lacey to a Lumberjack Match on December 14th!.

* XXXPlicit Content defeated Hunter Matthews and CJ Esparza to retain the MSPW Tag Team Titles. After the match, Hunter and CJ were putting the boots to DDS and ended up piledriving the referee. The ring announcer who is also the brothers of DDS ran into help, but planted into the mat with a piledriver!

* "Irish Crippler" Michael Flannery and Jason Hades wrestled to a draw in a Last Man Standing Match, when neither man could answer the ten count after an Ace Crusher from the top rope onto two chairs! After the match, Flannery challenged Hades to a Fans Bring the Weapons Match for at the next show in November!*

To give some updates on Booker T-the general feeling is that he does not want to retire, and will most likely end up in TNA. Also, Sharmell is wanting to go back to college.

There is/has been a power struggle in TNA going on for a couple months now between Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett. Angle basically is gunning for control of the company-booking wise-and apparently many would favor this, as a lot of people are tired of Jarrett's illogical booking style. I think this is a very dangerous and volitile situation, because if Kurt Angle doesn't get what Kurt Angle wants-as we've seen in the past-he's likely to throw a huge tissy fit and walk out, but on the flip side, honestly, TNA is Jeff Jarrett's baby, and Angle doesn't have any right to be trying to take Jarrett's power away. I really hate to see this.

It's being rumored that Brock Lesnar's first UFC fight may be against Brad Imes. Also, it's being rumored that Lesnar's deal is for two years, and that he may debut for UFC as soon as Feb.

Chris Jericho is slated to make his return to WWE at the Cyber Sunday ppv, but USA prez Bonnie Hammer is pushing for him to return on RAW. Jericho commented on the disastrous California Wrestle Fest, stating that he'd been contacted to appear at the event over the summer, but turned it down.

I have a question for you guys. How much do you think internet advertising helps wrestling promotions? It was ABUNDANTLY clear that this wrestle fest over the weekend had to have been relying heavily on just word of mouth from the internet, plus I'd heard there was an MMA event going on nearby the event. You guys tell me your thoughts!

More on the release of Kristal Marshall-prior to her release, there had been complaints about Kristal’s work. She is said to have rubbed the wrong people the wrong way.

Former Four Horsemen manager and WWE employee J.J. Dillon under went left knee replacement last week. We wish him a speedy recovery. Dillon has started his physical therapy.

After being released by WWE (AGAIN), Teddy Hart no-showed a booking in Calgary for the PWA promotion.
